De-schooling to start home education
Rather than rushing out to buy text-books or worrying about following a curriculum when beginning home educating, many families find that it's best to begin with a period of 'de-schooling'. I agree with this post. I was a Unschooled child and found it to be quite fun and exciting. I got to learn (study) what I wanted to, and now, I am a student filmmaker at Illinois Institute of Art Chicago. And they didn't ask me for any SAT or ACT - though, it is optional.
